These high-end tumblers have exploded in popularity over the past few months, especial the YETI Rambler. Similar to Tervis, the YETI has the ability to keep drinks cold for hours on end. In our testing the Yeti Tumbler held ice for 24hrs+ in the middle of summer with 90° ambient temps. (See Video & Results Below). YETI has a whole line of tumblers that put the old traditional “travel mugs” to shame. But the biggest question yet still….is the higher price of the YETI worth it? Let’s take a look at the details.
Yeti Tumbler Performance
After our Head to Head tumbler comparison, we can say, yes, it is worth spending that extra money on a Yeti. The Yeti Tumbler held ice for 36 ours in our Yeti vs Engel tumbler test. Both tumblers were left outside in the warm Florida sun (about 85 degrees) and maintained ice for about 36 hours. The difference, albeit slight, is the Yeti Tumbler was 10 degrees cooler when compared to the Engel Tumbler at the conclusion of our test. To see the head to head matchup, see the video below:
Yeti Vs 8 Other Tumblers
YETI Rambler Series Technology:

- No Sweat Design; Fingers stay dry, and no need for clean-up or a coaster.
Available Yeti Tumbler, Mugs & Lowball Sizes
The YETI Rambler Tumbler is constructed of 18/8 stainless steel and is insulated with a double-wall vacuum insulation. This tumbler will keep your drinks cold or hot, (whichever you prefer) for hours. The YETI Rambler tumbler comes in two sizes; 20 ounce and 30 ounce and multiple color options/schemes. One of the most popular colors we see is the Pink Yeti Tumbler. As shown in our testing above, this tumbler can keep ice for up to 24 hours, even in extreme environments. One of the biggest question surrounding all tumblers is, is the YETI Rambler dishwasher safe? Yes, it is! See Available Color Schemes⇒
The YETI Rambler Lowball is a mug that is used to keep your coffee hot in the morning and your cocktail cold in the evening. YETI markets this mug as “the lowball to-go.” The mug has the same patented No Sweat design as the other Ramblers, so there is no need for a coaster or wiping down the exterior of the mug. The YETI Lowball Rambler is also designed to fit with the 20 ounce Rambler lid for more convenience in taking it with you.
The Colster is made to fit a 12 ounce can or a bottle. Also, sweat proof and the gasket lid locks the cold in and works to keep your favorite drink cold and refreshing for hours. There are many fake colster available for sale online, so be sure that you get a genuine Yeti colster. You’ll know yours is genuine when it arrives with a “Stash Can” which looks just like a 12 oz can which you can hid your valuables in.
Rambler lids are just like keys, they tend to go missing at the worst possible time. Luckily, Yeti makes replacement lids to fit all of the sizes they offer in the YETI Rambler tumbler. Don’t forget, the YETI Rambler lid also fits the Rambler Lowball.
Pro-Tip: The Yeti Lid will also fit the Ozark Trails tumbler. As you’ll see in the video above, the Ozark Trails (at least when we purchased them) had issues with their lid gasket. The Yeti lid does not have this issue.
